Dear Dr. Dabbs:
Wow!! Kristen and I have discussed so many times how to put into words how thankful we are for your care.
As you know, we came to you at a time when we had given up hope that Kristen would ever be "pain free" again.
Thanks to your enthusiasm, positive attitude and of course expert care, Kristen started feeling better mentally long before the physical part of the healing began.
We both can not put in words how nice it is to have someone in the Healthcare Profession really care about you and not look at you like another number.
Kristen has always been a singer. Whether it is in the car, shower, at church or whatever. I had not heard her beautiful voice in almost a year. Singing would make her head pound even more. Lately she has been singing again at the top of her lungs. It literally is music to my ears.
Thank you Dr. Dabbs, to you and your wonderful staff. We hope you have a great Thanksgiving.
God Bless,
Patient and Mom
Dear Dr. Dabbs,
I just wanted to let you know how I was doing at this point in my life. I am doing great! I feel so much better than before I started receiving your care. I want to thank you for all the many things you have done for my family and I. My prayers have been answered because of you. God Bless you and your family!
I talked with you before about what I wanted to do with my life after I graduate and I had told you Pediatrics. Well, since then I have changed my mind I now want to study Forensic Medicine. Ultimately I will become a Forensic Pathologist. I will be attending HSU where I will get my Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Biology. I will then be going on to Med School. I am totally psyched about college and am looking forward to starting my life beyond high school. Thanks again for all that you do.
Sincerely,
Another Happy Patient
What patients want to know about adjustments
Designed by: Hope Web Designs, Inc.
Spinal joints that are "locked up" fixated or not moving right can affect your health by "choking" or irritating nearby nerve tissue. Chiropractic adjustments add motion to these areas. This helps restore nervous system integrity and can improve the healing process.
There are many ways to adjust the spine. Sometimes the doctor’s deliver a quick, highly accurate thrust. Or an instrument directs a repeatable force to a fixed spinal joint. Other times a slow, constant pressure is used. Some chiropractic doctors use special tables with moving sections. Several areas of the spine may be adjusted or just one.
The key is to use the precise amount of energy. At the exact spot. In the right direction. At just the right time, to get spinal joints moving again. Chiropractic is truly an art. Your chiropractic doctor has become a master at one or more adjusting techniques.
Just about anyone can be adjusted. Newborns, infants, children, seniors and even failed back surgery patients can benefit. Naturally, your doctor tailors your chiropractic care to your size, age and unique health problem.
With the intent of reducing nervous system irritation, chiropractic adjustments are specific. Targeted. Focused. And more precise than spinal "manipulations" or "mobilization." It is this precision, combined with the purpose of reducing the nervous system irritation, which has helped so many people.
Q. What do adjustments feel like?
A. After the brief thrust, many patients report a sense of well-being or a feeling of calmness. Others feel improved mobility. Inflammation or muscle spasms may delay these positive effects. Chiropractic doctors excel at making adjustments comfortable and effective.
Q. Are adjustments safe?
A. Yes. A NewZeland government study concluded that chiropractic adjustments are "remarkable safe." Taking an over-the-counter pain reliever is about 100 times more risky.
Q. Will adjustments make my spine too loose?
A. No. Only the spinal joints that are "locked up" receive adjustments. This allows weakened muscles and ligaments to stabilize and heal.
Q. What makes the sound?
A. Lubricating fluids separate the bones of each spinal joint. Some adjusting methods can produce a sound when the gas and fluids in the joint shift. It’s like opening a soda can or removing a suction cup. The sound is interesting, but isn’t a guide to the quality or value of the adjustment.
Q. Can I adjust myself?
A. No. Some patients can make their joints "pop" but that’s not an adjustment! Even your chiropractic doctors must consult a colleague to benefit from chiropractic care.
